Although a very old effect, this is an extremely visual bit of magic with liquids. Sets available in the past have normally been individually crafted from glass tumblers and were very expensive. We now offer you this set of the classic item, specially molded in crystal plastic, at a very modest price.

On the performer's table are four clear transparent tumblers in four different sizes. Each tumbler is approximately twice as large as the previous one. The smallest tumbler is full of milk. The performer pours the contents of this tiny tumbler into the next largest tumbler, approximately double the size. Magically the milk has doubled, again filling the entire tumbler. This is repeated with the other two tumblers, doubling the quantity of the milk again, and once again.

You can also work the effect in reverse, starting with the largest tumbler full of milk. The entire contents are poured into the second largest tumbler, half the size. Half the milk seems to have "evaporated' into thin air. This is repeated twice again, till the entire contents of the large tumbler have apparently diminished to fill the smallest tumbler.

You can present this effect with a patter line about how milk is diluted so that one can of milk multiples to four. Or if presenting the diminishing effect, you can patter about magically evaporating the water mixed in the milk to determine how much milk there was to start with. The visual nature of the effect lends itself to many presentation themes, for children or a mixed audience.
