I don’t want to knock any country especially countries I do business with like China and India. I buy a lot of product from both the aforementioned countries. I do try to buy from those countries with care. As you know products from both countries are much cheaper than American made similar products, but as you know, American made products tend to be made at a higher quality.
For China their silk is as good if not better that any silk from any country. Even the big Italian magic silk producer gets his silk from China. Their wood items are definitely inferior to American made items and let me show you why! I use American plywood in all the wood items I make. I bought a piece of Chinese plywood and did a few cuts in it. The American plywood is in figure #1. The Chinese plywood is in figure #2. You will notice that the American plywood has no lapping of the individual boards or holes and the Chinese plywood has the layers overlapped and many holes.

Which one do you think is better? Which one do you think will last the longest? Which one do you think will look the nicest? Which one do you think cost more money? The answers are obvious as the questions are rhetorical. When my items cost more than a similar item made by Mak or other manufactures, remember… I am making it here in the USA with carpenters that work for American wages under American conditions. I am not sending a pattern or sample to India or China to have it ripped off and made cheaper.
To all my American friends… Whenever possible… BE AMERICAN… BUY AMERICAN!
