AL CALLUS

Stage, television, parlor, walk-around and street magic have been the focus of Al's life for many a year. At age 15 Al Callus introduced his Magical Pitchman act in Times Square, New York City, and thus was one of the earliest and undoubtedly the youngest street magician. In Army Special Services he performed as the Magical Pitchman hundreds of times for servicemen both in the United States and Europe as well as in many other venues including television. He later entered the ad agency business which demanded all of his attention and only in the past ten years has his interest in magic been rekindled with close-up performances, teaching and lectures. He has recently brought back to life the Magical Pitchman Medicine Act which he hadn't performed for some 45 years. It has been exceedingly popular with lay audiences, has elicited strong interest in the magic community and has been a hit at many magic conventions. Due to this response Al has put together a lecture detailing the fascinating history of the medicine pitch, covering the often hilarious antics of street and TV pitchmen, revealing the successful routines he has long performed and culminating in his 12-minute show. You will not only be entertained but will be taught effects that you will be able to either do immediately, easily make at home or purchase on the spot.
