MENTALISM
This is a billet switching device from Jerry Somerdin that is very unique. It has a vastly improved mechanism. It is not made with the usual fragile rubber bands or elastic that break during a performance and deteriorate with age. It is made with a permanent coil spring that holds the billet, which sticks out from both the bottom and the side.
Because the billet is seen from both the bottom and the side of the clip it is much more deceiving than earlier methods where the billet is only seen at the bottom. It will fool even magicians and mentalists who are familiar with the earlier methods.

In this effect by Chuck Leach a spectator's five-dollar bill is trapped in a padlock. Three keys are shown and mixed. In the spirit of the 3 shell game and 3-card monte, the performer mixes the keys and the spectator tries to win his/her money back. (Aren't magicians fair?) the spectator always loses (or wins)!

In this effect by Marc Spelmann a spectator is asked to examine ten figure wound cards, confirming each is different with wounds in different places, the cards are mixed and one selected at random. The remaining cards are hidden from the performers view. The spectator is asked to visualize the performer with the wounds on their chosen card.
A pay envelope and a needle are handed to a second spectator who is asked to first confirm there is something inside the envelope and then to pierce a single random hole through the item inside.
Turning to the first spectator the performer begins to feel the wounds and indicates three separate places on their body to the astonishment of the spectator who confirms that the areas of the body mentioned are exactly the same as they were thinking of.
The performer turns to the second spectator and removes a folded piece of paper from the envelope which proves to be a picture of a figure.. The pierced holes match perfectly with the wounds thought of by the first spectator and felt by the performer for an astonishing climax.

In this effect by Wayne Dobson the magician presents a wallet to the spectator, and offers them a free choice of the three objects that are inside the wallet; a credit card, business card, and a bank note. Before the spectator can choose the items, the magician writes down a prediction of which items will be placed in which pocket of the spectator. The magician then looks away and shields his eyes, and asks the spectator to take the three items out of the wallet one at a time.
As the spectator pulls out each item, the magician tells them to put that item in a certain pocket. Once the spectator has finished randomly selecting the objects, the magician turns back to the spectator and pulls out his prediction. One by one, the magician names the location of each object, to the amazement of both the spectator and the audience!

In this effect the magician states that he will make a prediction that cannot fail, a prediction that he can give a 100% guarantee to be correct. A spectator is asked to simply think of any playing card and name it aloud.
The performer removes a sheet of paper and unfolds it showing that since he has every card in the deck on one side, he couldn't miss! Understandably, the audience is unimpressed and the magician offers to try it one more time, but this time he can only give a 50% guarantee. The spectator thinks of a different card and the magician tears the sheet down the center, handing one half to the spectator. Both the magician and spectator continue to tear up the sheet into smaller places, and the spectator is asked to separate the pieces into two piles. One of the piles contains the pieces showing cards with a similar suit or value to their thought-of card, and the other contains those pieces which don't. Without any questions or "fishing" the magician may immediately name the thought-of card!
