PSYCHOKINETIC LOCK

Psycho Kinesis is the ability to bend, change or move an object with your mind.  With this little effect you prove it to the audience. A lock and key are both handed out for examination to a member of the audience.  After they have been thoroughly examined and the spectator tries the key, you ask for him to place the lock in a martini glass and keep the key. The martini glass is covered with a cloth and you attempt to move the lock through psycho kinesis. All seems to fail.

When the glass is uncovered, miraculously the lock is seen locked to the stem of the glass.  Not only did you move the object, but you unlocked it and re-locked it with your mind.

IMPROMPTU GHOST GLASS II

This new discovery created by George Robinson Jr. It will make it possible to instantly produce spirit writing on just about any clear glass surface, completely under your control.

Impromptu Ghost Glass II allows you produce spirit writing on a drinking glass, ash tray, eye glasses, mirrors, etc., minutes before your performance. Almost any design can be made to appear such as a playing card, ESP symbol, numbers, words, designs or what ever you choose. Simply breathing on the glass will cause the image to appear and then it will vanish just as mysteriously.

There are so many presentations available to you, it just boggles the mind. Here is a couple:

(1) You're having dinner with your wife or girl friend. The waiter brings two glasses to the table and he pours each of you a glass of wine. You toast, and just before leaving, you show her how strong your love for her is. You mime the words 'I love you" onto the glass. You tell her those words will be etched in both your lives forever. Breathe on the surface of the wine glass and show her the power of real love.

(2) Have a card selected (forced). Ask the spectator to examine your hand, and to make sure that there is nothing on your hand. Hand him the glass and have him wipe the glass clean, inside and out. Ask the spectator to place the selected card, face down, on your palm, then to remove it, showing no one the value of the card. Take your hand and place it momentarily on the side of the glass, then breathe on the surface, exposing the hidden ghost image of the selected card.

(3) Using a plain glass disc you could design your own image, word, etc. Force the image on the disc by your favorite method and place the disc on a spectator’s palm. Just prior to placing the disc on his/her palm, you apply a drop of special gypsy liquid #9 to his palm. Set the disc on top of this and in a few seconds, the glass will fog up and the image will appear. This really looks weird and gives them a real shock. You may

JACKPOT BAGS

The performer displays four different colored jewelry bags, colored red, blue, green, and yellow. He states that three of these bags contain candy, or a cheap trinket, while one of them has the "Jack Pot" - a real diamond studded gold bracelet, (or necklace).

He now displays a folder showing the numbers 1 - 2 - 3 - 4. He says this holds the key to the four colored bags. Three spectators are invited to participate, and each of them freely select one of the four digits. There is no force, and they may each choose any of the 4 digits, other than those already selected. Let us presume they select 1. 3 and 4. This leaves No. 2 for the performer.

The folder is now opened to reveal the key. Inside it are the same four digits in the same order, but each is now in a different colored spot, which indicates the bag selected by the spectator. If the No.1 is in the yellow spot, the spectator selecting this number gets the yellow bag and so on. The last bag, corresponding to the number not selected by the 3 spectators is left for the performer. The three spectators open their bags, to discover only the "consolation prize". Finally the performer opens his bag to find the “Jackpot”.

The performer wins every time, and there is no force, sleights, or false moves. The key is on display right through the routine and is not switched. With a little presentation ability you can get a lot of mileage from this, as it is a routine that appeals to any audience. Everyone likes to gamble when they have nothing to loose.

The apparatus supplied by us for this routine comprises of the four velvet bags, and the Jackpot Key. The key is a special forcing prop which can also be used for other effects, and is supplied with it’s own instructions for handling. It will permit you to produce any of the four digits on any of the four different colored spots. The rest will be obvious.

You load your jackpot prize into one of the bags, (it can be a different color for repeat performances). Consolation prizes go in the other three bags. Proceed as per the presentation. Presume the jackpot is in the red bag, and you are left with bag No. 3. All you need do is to operate the key so that the No. 3 appears on the red spot when the folder is opened. The rest is just a matter of presentation and showmanship, and even a modest effort in this direction will make for a feature routine because of the intrinsic appeal of the gambling theme.

SPIRIT SLATE

This is a special slate where a message magically appears on the blank side of a signed slate is a classic magic effect, used by magicians, spirit mediums, and tricksters for many decades. This model has a very clever locking flap. As a result, you can safely have a spectator handle the slate, before or after the effect.

A spectator is asked to wipe both slate surfaces clean, then sign or mark the slate on one side. The signed state is now placed in an envelope, or under a handkerchief or simply placed down on the table. When the slate is subsequently handed back to the spectator, a message or picture has appeared on the blank surface opposite his marking or signature. There are several presentations for a spirit slate, and most magicians buying the prop will have their own notions for its use. The following are some typical uses.

A "prediction" appears on the blank slate. This could be the name of a playing card, a selected design, a number, or total of series of numbers, person's name, or anything similar. Obviously the item predicted has been forced.

A very spooky spirit picture can be made to appear on the slate. During performance you visibly rub chalk over the blank side of the slate and the spooky picture appears on the chalk background.

Once you are familiar with the basic handling, you can try any of the presentations given in the 12 page booklet that comes with the slate or any of your own brilliant creations.

FREE WILL

We all want to believe that we are in control. We want to believe that our decisions are our own. But maybe those are just beliefs....

You begin by removing a small piece of paper from a cloth bag and handing the bag to a helper. You explain that you'd like their help in an experiment involving free will. Your helper removes three wooden disks from the inside of the bag. Each disk has a simple geometric shape on one side. The helper mixes up the disks and then places them face down on the table

The helper now chooses one disk for himself, one for the performer, and one to be put back in the bag. The choices are always up to the helper and they may change their mind before they commit to the selections.

You now ask one final question to the helper, "Did you feel every choice you made was of your own free will?" The helper responds, "Yes." The helper now opens the piece of paper which has been on display before ANY choices were made and it explains with complete accuracy where each of the symbols is now located!

A terribly unnerving reminder that the choices we make may not always be our own!
