MENTALISM
Most Magicians when doing a mental effect appear to read the spectator's mind. This super subtle mental miracle the spectator, without knowing it, reads the mentalist's mind. You place five standard ESP cards face down on a table, asking a spectator to place his cards face up on your cards. Miraculously, 100 out of 100 times the spectator will match all five cards.

Some of the finest mental magic in existence relies on the use of this ingenious gimmick. On a business card you quickly jot down a prediction. Then ask someone to call out a number from one to a hundred. When they do, have them read your prediction. THEY MATCH. Simple, uncomplicated, and totally baffling.
The Swami Gimmick gets it's name from it's original use by Swamis or Mediums in demonstrations of Spirit Writing. There are several varieties of Gimmicks that serve this purpose.

The magician explains that he has made a prediction of an event yet to happen. He shows an envelope containing this prediction. Any spectator from the audience is invited to deal through a deck of cards face up, one at a time. The spectator may stop dealing at any time, or change his mind and continue dealing.
When the person is satisfied that he has randomly selected a card, the envelope is immediately opened to reveal a single card to be the matching card! Totally self-contained; has about a two minute learning time.

The Billet Changing Ladle is a changing device for changing flat paper items, or coins, tokens etc. in a very clever manner. The apparatus looks like a large wooden spoon with a handle. The open and exposed bowl of the spoon seems completely innocent, making any sort of change seem impossible. The apparatus supplied is ready to work.
You can use it for many effects. Slips with predicted names written on them or you can use numbers from a large calendar page, or even have numbers at random written by spectators. You could have predicted the number. It could be used to indicate a page for a book test, or magazine test, where you could describe the entire contents of the "selected page'. This is an extremely useful piece of apparatus for mental magic, or general conjuring effects. The apparatus exactly resembles a photo frame. In fact, it is very cleverly gimmicked to exchange an envelope, card, or picture in a very clean and convincing manner.
The frame has a large cut out front. When anything is pushed into the frame from the slot on top, the spectators can see it very c early, being placed in the frame. However, when the same item is removed, again very visibly, it has changed for something else. As far as the audience is concerned, the card or envelope has never been out of sight, yet it has been changed.
