An ESP effect you can't pass by. Spectator deals ten ESP cards face up in the shape of a pyramid. Magician now openly deals from the bottom of the deck a face down card on top of each face up card. As the cards are dealt, the spectator uses an "image receptor" consisting of a triangular piece of clear plastic to indicate which cards he thinks match and which do not. When the cards are turned over, the spectator has "accurately predicted" the outcome. Everything can be examined.

There are three basic styles of presentation, which can be performed with Picto Mental 2000. Within those presentations there are countless performance variations and the trick can be slanted to suit most performing styles. Each of the three basic effects can be combined with any other one, or you can even combine all three for a complete psychic act.
The three Basic Effects;
Instant Mind Reading (verbal) A large, child's coloring book is shown to have over 100 pages, each bearing a different picture. Handing this to a spectator, they are requested to open the book at any page and concentrate on the picture on that page whilst the performers back is turned. The Performer concentrates for a moment and immediately names out loud what the spectator is looking at.
Design-Duplication (drawn) A large, child's coloring book is shown to have over 100 pages, each bearing a different picture. Handing this to a spectator, they are requested to open the book at any page and concentrate on the picture on that page whilst the performers back is turned. The Performer takes some paper and a pen. He concentrates for a moment and immediately draws a sketch. Comparing this with the spectator's picture it turns out to show exactly that picture.
Prediction (written) The Performer takes out an envelope telling that he has made a prediction for a future event. Then a large, child's coloring book is shown to have over 100 pages, each bearing a different picture. Handing this to a spectator, they are requested to open the book at any page and concentrate on the picture on that page whilst the performer's back is turned. The envelope is opened by another spectator who reads the prediction aloud: The Performer has correctly predicted the chosen picture.

MENTAL YARN by BILL GOLDMAN
A mental miracle suitable for stage, close-up, and even the phone or internet! The magician asks a spectator to think of an object from a printed list. The selection process is extremely fair. Yet, even before the spectator makes her selection, the magician knows what object she is destined to pick! This is thought reading the way it was meant to be.
The above is the basic effect of Mental Yarn. Direct, stunning mind reading. However, there are many different ways to present the effect. For example, two spectators can assist the magician, each one selecting a different object. Of course, the magician reads both of their thoughts.
