David Evangelista has been involved in magic since the age of nine. At thirteen, after a few years of researching the life of Harry Houdini, David began dangerous escapes to emulate his hero. He would be handcuffed, chained or tied and would jump from the roof of his parents home into the swimming pool to escape. David spent countless days being tied up with rope by anyone who was willing to spend five or ten minutes to tie him up, only to have him escape in two or three minutes.

Within a few years, at age fifteen David was performing professionally for various local events. From school drama club productions to local city events, David began making a name for himself in his community. His first year in high school, David talked the gym coach in to allowing him to be handcuffed and chained, as he jumped off the high dive to effect his escape. David became instantly know as "The Houdini Kid" in high school by his fellow classmates and teachers. One specific teacher/coach would tie David after class and see if he could escape before the students in his next class arrived. He never failed to escape before any students arrived.

At age 16, David was already considered an accomplished magician and escape artist and was amazing audiences with his daring escapes & dove magic. David's promotional video, shows a daring packing crate escape that David attempted the very first time at his home in Saint Petersburg, Florida. David was 24 years old when he first attempted this escape.

David’s fascination with magic & escapes lead him to creating and building his own effects for his stage show, because he always wanted something different. He decided the best way to obtain what he wanted was to create it for himself. He created magic for his rapid dove & fire production routine, exotic bird routines, manipulation act and stage illusions and escapes.

Today, after many years of learning the ropes, David is considered one of the most energetic, dynamic and creative magicians today. He is a well known professional magician and instructor / lecturer at magic conventions, where he teaches other magicians how to properly routine their magic effects with music and showmanship. He is also the inventor and designer of several well known magic effects used by professional magicians throughout the world. His wife, Cheri is the owner of Visual Magic, a company which manufacturers innovative magic effects. Through their travels to different cities, they have both made many friends in the magic community and are well known and respected as dedicated professional entertainers.
