South Carolina magician of the year Ron Conley is an active member  has been a member of the International Brotherhood of Magicians for over twenty-five years. He was born in Oregon, lived in Gatlinburg for a few years, and has been a resident of Myrtle Beach for over thirty years. He is probably the best-known magician in all of South Carolina and has done much to advance the art in so many ways. Ron Conley received his magic training from Gene Gordon, who started the IBM. As "Ripley's Believe It or Not!" magician, he operated five magic shops, did promotional work, and invented many company oriented magic products.

Lance Burton and Doug Henning were customers in his early stores. In addition to doing consulting work for Busch Gardens, he was manager of the Magic Shop at the original Houdini Hall of Fame, won the "World Wide Air Force Talent Contest," and even worked for one of the largest manufactures of gaffed gambling equipment, George & Company. A veteran performer, Ron has worked just about every venue imaginable, except funerals, although he tried to book one! Some of his favorites include gambling ships, circuses, nightclubs, trade shows, and festivals. But his favorite venue is schools!

During the last seven years, Ron has presented his "Magical Say No Show" thousands of times and, in fact, has worked nearly every Elementary and Primary school in South Carolina. Unique in his Drug Program is the comedy, but it works because Saying No to Drugs is like comedy....serious business! Whether it is Close-up Magic or Stage presentation, Ron's a winner; in fact he has thirty three trophies to prove it, including a "Gold Rabbit" from the PCAM for his Billiard Ball Manipulation.

He spent three years working the Brass Anchor Lounge in Myrtle Beach, has appeared at the Magic Castle, and at one time had his own TV program called "Magic Castle Cartoons." Much of his time now is spent in running Conley's House of Magic, and this is usually where you will find him, making possible the impossible! Ron Conley has demonstrated a high skill and proficiency in learning new effects, invented many items and routines, taught magic, and lectured.

Ron has performed and has been a dealer at countless conventions, some of which are as follows: PCAM, SEAM, SCAM, Winter Carnival of Magic, Columbus Magi Fest, New York State Magic Convention, Piff Paff Poof, Allentown, KIDabra, World Congress Magic Convention, Magic by the Sea, Comedy Magic Workshop, Circus Magic, Balloons Magic & Mania, Magic Alliance of New York, and the Comedy Magic Bash.

At his own magic shop, he has had nearly every major magic lecture available. One year he actually had twenty-three lectures. Overall, he has had five FISM winners perform at his shop. Ron Conley teaches magic, also. Many of his shows have messages to them, such as his "Magical Say No" performance and his "Fun Safety Magic Show" for schools and churches.

Ron has given magic lessons, written books on magic, and developed programs for day care centers, after school programs, recreation departments, church groups, community centers, and summer camps. He puts fun into his magic. Ron Conley shows a great love for the art of magic and has great respect for the code of ethics. He will share his knowledge with others, will encourage you, and respect you for your ideas.

He is a collector of magic, posters, and books, and he has invented many effects. Some of the tricks he has made and manufactured are as follows; Razzle Dazzle, Die-A-Beadical, Con Deck, Snake Hanky, No Camera, NO SMOKING, Say No to Drugs (book and video) Rabbit Tails, Color Changing Fish, Itchy Twitchy Witch, Comedy Color Changing Silks, U & You Silks, No Go Tell Yell Silks, No Go Tell Yell Blendo, Brass Ball & Tube, Brass Hot Rods, Slip Off Spots, Gemazing, Brass Dye Tube (18"), Wooden Change Box, Rainbow House, Fool Proof Rabbit Production, Silk Cabby, Haunted Bill, Vern's In Your Face Water Trick, Color Changing Cube, and Color Changing Deck. Some of these items are his own, and some are improvements of older and classic magic.
