KID'S MAGIC
In the effect a white rabbit and a black rabbit are shown. The white rabbit completely vanishes.
Presentation: "I'd like you to meet Harvey (or whoever), who happens to be a little black rabbit (Open door and show Harvey.) However, Harvey is very shy and if he knew how many people were in the audience tonight he'd probably turn white with fright. So please don't anybody make the slightest bit of noise. (If you're playing to a kid's audience, and, after all, this is a kid's trick, you can be sure of someone saying something. If you wish to egg them on say, "Especially don't call out his name or giggle." (Should your audience be the perfect audience and remain stone silent, then listen for a sneeze, or a gum chewer.) "Oh, my, I'm afraid Harvey heard that. (Turn trick around.) Oh, yes, poor Harvey, White --with fright. Perhaps I can calm him down. (Whisper in his ear, slide door back into place and turn trick back around.) I think he's okay now." Open door and show black rabbit.
By now the kids should be shouting, "You turned it around! Ignore their shouts and say, "Oh, no, it's gotten noisy again. Slide door covering the black rabbit and turn trick around to show white rabbit. Talk to him again and then turn it around and say, "I think he's adjusted to the noise. I don't think he'll get scared anymore." Show black rabbit. While, they're yelling, slide back door and look at back side of black rabbit.. Lift flap to show there's is apparently only one rabbit. Slide door back into place and turn it around. Then back. Now lift out insert and show there's nobody at home. Finally turn insert around to show back side of black rabbit. The white rabbit is gone!
This trick can be played for a short sucker trick or it can be stretched into a featured trick. Decide how it best fits into your act and then go out and baffle your audience!
