This is similar to the popular Pom-Pom Stick, using different colored cords, making the effect more puzzling. The performer displays a stick, with two different colored cords running through them with a bead at one end and a tassel at the opposite end of each cord.
He pulls the beads up, and shows the two cords run freely through the holes on either side. Then magically the cords become "linked", so that when the red bead is pulled up, the green tassel gets pulled in and when the green tassel is pulled down the red tassel is pulled up, and so on, and on, as often as you wish. Finally the two cords are shown to be single and independent once again. We supply you the special stick, ready to work.

ADAIR'S 1000 BIRTHDAY PAPER TEAR
This is one of those themed paper tears that are so popular with magicians. This one from the fertile mind of Ian Adair will be a hit at any Birthday Party show. The effect and presentation are best detailed in Ian's own words below. Performer displays a strip of wide paper with numbering as follows... 1 0 0 0
He tells the children that the birthday child is celebrating his/her birthday today and he is 1000 years of age. The children laugh. "He's not really 1000 years old," the magi says. The performer rips off a zero (0) at the end. "Sorry, the birthday boy is 100 years of age today, that's right, isn't it ?"
"It's not! Oh Dear!" The magi rips off another zero (0). "That's it.. he's 10 years of age today." If you are doing a ten year old show capitalize on this. If he is another age say, "Oh dear, I'm getting it all wrong." Magi rips off another zero and says, "I've got it right this time, he's 1 year of age today." The children laugh really loud.
"He's not 1 year old? You ask. All pieces are bundled together and restored ala regular strip paper tears. "I know what age he is... he's seven years of age, and let's wish him a Happy Birthday." The message on the restored strip will say Happy Birthday!

FLASH SILK DIE - HAPPY BIRTHDAY
The performer displays a black silk (approx. 18"), printed with a design in white, (like a photograph negative). The silk is displayed clearly and completely on both sides, stretched flat between the hands.
He now asks a volunteer spectator, (the Birthday child, for the Happy Birthday Silk design) to toss up some colored confetti into the air, to help color the silk. The performer shakes the silk in the cascading confetti, and the silks is found to be completely colored in many bright attractive colors. It is again displayed clearly, stretched flat between the hands on both sides.
The effect can also be performed in reverse, though it would be a rare routine that requires all the pretty colors to vanish. Complete and ready to use, with instructions.
