This apparatus is colorful and eye-catching. The impact on the audience is tremendous, - everyone likes to gamble with an opportunity to win something for free. The secret and handling of this effect is so simple and direct that anyone can do it immediately upon reading the instructions.
The performer introduces five colorful plastic eggs, the type seen during Easter. Either a gold coin, large bill or a ring is placed into the one of the eggs. This is done without the audience seeing which egg has the valuable. The eggs are placed into a clear bag. Four people are invited to reach into the bag without looking and remove an egg. It is explained that you will take for yourself the remaining egg. Of course you know what happens, the egg left for you contains the valuables.
There are other things that you can do with this valuable prop. You are given other suggestions along with the instructions.

This is a "coloring book" with six changes. The six possible different changes which can be shown as you flip through the book are...
Although there are six possible changes, the performer need not use all six for the routine. He or she can perform a shorter routine with fewer changes if so desired.
A Mother Goose Nursery Rhyme theme is used since a Coloring book is basically a children's pastime. Nursery rhymes are very easy to identify by the pictures. However, the magic is strong enough to appeal to older children and even a mixed audience. When performed for a mature audience, you normally introduce the coloring book as "a relic from your younger days, when you believed in real magic. This makes it a natural introduction, that the older children and the adults in the audience can identify with.
This is a very simple effect, with a highly visual impact, and every performer will develop his or her favorite presentation for it. Incorporate some additional props and gags, and you have a highly entertaining and magical routine for any audience.

The magical effect is quite simple, and entirely visual. It is performed silently to special music. The performer removes three 45 rpm records as a group from a specially printed record jacket and then displays the records individually to be black on both sides. One record changes to yellow (on both sides), then the second record changes to yellow, followed by the third. All three records are now shown yellow on both sides. For the final climax, the records change to three colors - red, yellow and blue. Again all three records are clearly shown on both sides.
As the three records are displayed and moved in an arc, "rainbow fashion" over the performer's head, a series of multi-colored paper streamers magically appear and are thrown over the heads of the audience to form a "rainbow" above them.
The color-changing records effect is in fact accomplished with six record disks, which are treated as only three records throughout. The moves and displays are parallel to that of a packet trick with cards, but the effect is as far removed from a card trick as imaginable.

This is a perfect children's magic trick that even surprises the grown ups. Two wooden cut-outs of rabbits are seen to be standing on the table. One rabbit is white while the other is black. Two covers are next shown to be absolutely empty, one has a white hat drawn on it while the other has a black hat. The cover with white hat is used to cover the white rabbit and the cover with the black hat is used to cover the black rabbit.
After some magical posses, the covers are lifted to show that the white rabbit is in the black cover and the black rabbit is in the cover with the white hat. The change is performed once again so that the rabbits return to their original position.
When the effect is done for the third time, the children understand the secret and complain that the white rabbit is painted black on the other side and the black one is painted white on the reverse side.
At first the magician seems not to understand what the spectators are saying as he turns the rabbits upside down and turns around himself. When he finally understands, he asks someone to come up on stage and turn the rabbits themselves. Mow it is seen that one rabbit is red and the other is green on the reverse side. Surprise ending that always gets a laugh!

There are two routines that come with these silks from Duane Laflin. By far the best is the routine where a silk with a picture of a black dog and another silk with a picture of a white dog combine and become a silk with a picture of a Dalmatian.
Presentation... Hold up the silk with the black dog picture. Do you know what this is? Someone might say it is a picture of a black dog, but actually it is a black dog with black spots on it. It is hard to see the spots since they are black and he is black, but even so 1 call him Spot. He is Spot number one.
Hold up the silk with the white dog picture. Do you know what this is? Someone might say it is a picture of a white dog, but actually it is a white dog with white spots on it. Since she is a white dog it is hard to see the white spots, but they are there so I call her Spot number two-not Spot too, as in also, but Spot two as in not Spot number one.
I'm happy to say that these two dogs like each other. In fact, since the
black dog is a boy and the white dog is a girl, they have decided to start a dog
family.
Place the two silks into the changing device. This is their new home.
Guess what will happen some day? Some day they will have a puppy. Then everyone will know that they really are spotted dogs because their puppy will look like this! Produce the Dalmatian silk.
