Here is a great trick for walk around clowns or children's performers. In the effect the magician or clown passes his hand up and down over the two silks making them change to a chessboard design. It is very easy to do and works exactly like the double color changing hanky.

The magician tears a piece of paper into tiny pieces. Then the pieces of paper are saturated in water. A fan is waved over the wet pieces of paper and you now literally fill the stage with dry flakes of paper, just like a snowstorm.
