GENERAL MAGIC

This is a flat rip apart change bag, which will enable you to perform more than one change. The rip apart change bag is a most convincing prop. An item is placed in a flat bag, which is then "torn in half." The item placed in the bag is seen to have changed into an entirely different item. With this model you can perform more than one change.
Several different colored Silks are put into the empty bag, in an effort to turn them into a National Flag. When the bag is ripped, the flag is found to be only half complete, with one silk not blended, leaving one of the colors missing. This is again put into the bag, and when bag is ripped again, the flag is complete. This type of effect can be done for any mismade Blendo.
Piece of rope is cut and placed into bag. When removed, pieces are joined together by knots. Magician then replaces in bag and full length of rope emerges. Can also be done with Ribbon, paper streamers etc.
Three Silks are shown and one is vanished, while other two are tied and placed in bag. Magician apparently attempts to produce third silk tied between the other two. When bag is ripped the magician's Sock appears between the silks, instead of the vanished silk. The silk is found on the magician's ankle! The Sock is removed, and the two silks tied and replaced in the bag. The silk from around the ankle is untied, and again placed in bag. When the bag is ripped, the missing silk is now found tied between them.
A card is selected. A place a piece of newspaper is placed into the bag. When the paper is removed from the ripped bag it is seen to have pips torn out to indicate the selected card, but they are not correct. For example, if the selected card was the 5 of Diamonds, the paper is shown to indicate a 4 of Diamonds. The paper is replaced into the bag, and finally emerges with the correct value showing.
A vanished silk appears between two other silks tied and put in the bag. You can also use the bag to vanish the silk for 20th Century Silks. The rip-apart feature makes this a very effective silk vanish for any routine.
Three different colored ropes or ribbons change into a long tri-color rope or ribbon. They could first appear knotted together, then blended into one piece.
Knots magically appear on a rope or ribbon placed into a bag, or knots vanish from a knotted ribbon or rope.
Two items like a ring and ribbon, or rope and silk etc. are placed separately into the bag and emerge with one tied to the other.
Torn pieces of tissue paper change to a bouquet of paper flowers.
Use it for a very easy torn and restored paper. Paper pieces could be "pasted or taped" in a comedy manner, then completely restored for a two step transformation.
Use it to change rope to silk, or silk to ribbon etc., as a part of your routine when going from one item to another.
It is a very convenient way to vanish any item for any trick that requires a vanish. Can be used for sponge balls, silks, ribbons, rope etc.
Put in a ball of wool and a pair of small knitting needles, and produce a doll's coat, or a pair of socks, magically knitted.
A number of separate ribbon rings arc: tied and placed in the bag emerge magically linked.
Place a silk and piece of ribbon in the bag. When silk is removed, the ribbon is found stitched onto it to convey a message, such as... "THE END"
These are the bare ideas, which you can embellish with your presentation abilities. Most change bag ideas can be used with this, except for those involving bulky items. The rip apart feature, plus the double change give you a more effective prop, that appears more innocent, and adds a dramatic touch to the presentation.

RING FLIGHT by DICK BARRY

A borrowed finger ring vanishes from your hand and appears inside a ring case, which was zippered shut in your back pants pockets. WHY ANOTHER RING FLIGHT? Ring flight, without a doubt, is the best close-up trick in magic. Over the years, there have been many versions and routines of RING FLIGHT.
The reason Dick Barry decided to add another one to the list is simple. Many ring flights either do not work very well or are expensive. He has put together a prop that is easy to work, made well and is inexpensive.
Here is why his prop is a winner. First, the reel is small, made from metal and has a strong interior spring which will cause the ring to travel from your hand to the ring case quickly, smoothly and silently. Instead of using fish line or thread, the reel we use has a very thin, but extremely strong, steel cable which has been plastic coated for a smooth operation. Equally as important is that the RING CLIP (used to clip the ring on to the reel) is EASY TO USE and will take ANY SIZE ring. Finally, the zippered ring case is made of leather and not only looks good but will last a long time.
