This prop is based on a concept by the Late Robert Harbin. He devised it as a larger stage size variation of the classic Cups & Balls. Unlike the Cups & Balls there are no sleights or special moves with these props. And the effect is performed with large balls, as large as the tubes could possible hold.
In effect the performer displays three tubes, and one or more balls, depending on the nature of routine to be performed. The tubes are closed at one end, but are displayed empty, with the balls being rolled in and out of the tubes. Now follows a routine, where a ball can be put into one tube and made to appear in the other, as your fancy dictates. You can have the balls multiply appear or vanish, as in most Cups & Balls and Chop Cup routines.
The apparatus supplied comprises of three special tubes, each measuring nine and one half inches high and three and one half inches square and a number of balls measuring two and one half inches in diameter. The tubes are specially gimmicked, which allows you to produce or vanish a ball in a most natural manner. This effect makes a cups and balls routine possible for a large audience.

The magician shows three silver compact discs (CDs) and an empty CD sleeve or cover with a hole in the middle.
The audience can see right through, and examine the cover and there is nothing concealed in this. Displaying the first silver CD on both sides, the magician places it in the empty cover. A red ribbon is passed through the hole in the cover and CD, and when the CD is pulled out it is seen to have changed to red. This is repeated with the other two silver CDs, changing them to yellow and green respectively.
