GENERAL MAGIC
During the 1980's when we were one of the few magic dealers to offer "slush" powder (we call it "G" powder) we knew that there would be many tricks invented for use with this chemical that instantly solidifies liquid. The Ming Thing is one of the best items we have seen. The Ming Thing is a rubber vase, which looks like China that is 5 1/2" tall.
An oriental vase in which you have placed secretly a small amount of "G" powder is standing on your table with real or feather flowers in it. The flowers are removed from the vase and placed on the table. You then pour water visibly into the vase. You look into the vase as if something is wrong. Then you pick up the vase and produce a large load of silks, streamers or ribbons. For the finally you turn the vase upside down and nothing pours out. Replace the flowers, comment that they didn't need water and the trick is over!

RAZOR BLADE ILLUSION by DAVE POWELL
The Razor Blade Illusion is an amazing effect that can be performed surrounded and will work equally well in a parlor or stage situation. The magician shows a decorative stand that displays six double edge razor blades. He removes the blades one at a time and shows them to be sharp by slicing a piece of paper with each one. As he shows the blades he places them to the center of the stand in plain view. Then he shows a spool of thread and tears off about a yard of the thread and places this into his mouth and apparently swallows the thread. He then takes the razor blades from the stand and places them into his mouth and apparently swallows them. Saying that he can regurgitate objects on command he reaches into his mouth and grabs a hold of an end of string. He pulls on the string and tied to It Is one of the razor blades, as he continues the rest of the blades come out, each tied to the string.
This is safe to do and really can add new scope to your act. Geek effects always bring you to a new dimension as a performer. The ability to seemingly swallow sharp razor blades, a piece of thread, connect them inside your stomach and regurgitate them connected` certainly is mind-boggling to an audience.
