A nickel-plated chain and lock are passed out for examination. The magician asks a spectator to chain and lock his wrists securely. He claims that he will escape in five seconds.
He actually escapes from the chains in less that two seconds. Very easy to do. Five minute learning time for the average person.

Imagine a full stage illusion that you can carry in your suitcase. That is exactly what the escape bag is. It is a large six-foot tall heavy black cloth bag that has no Velcro or zipper openings that have to be opened and closed. Only one bag is used and it is shown freely both inside and out. There is no cutting, using drawstrings or placing a pole or other device in the opening.

SENSATIONAL MAILBAG ESCAPE with BAR & LOCKS
The performer is locked in a large examined mailbag from which he magically escapes. The bag can be thoroughly examined before and after performance. It is a canvas bag, with metal grommets on top. A solid examined steel bar is passed through these grommets, with padlocks on both ends of the bar.
This is a very effective escape act that may be presented as a complete act or embellished with additional escape props. For example: Performer could be handcuffed and then placed in the bag and escape from both bag and handcuffs. Or the bag could be used in-conjunction with a Substitution trunk, with performer's assistant being handcuffed and locked in bag and then the trunk. Performer standing on trunk changes places with the assistant in the twinkling of an eye.
