Dinky Gowen has been doing magic so long he thinks he learned his first magic trick from Merlin himself. At the ripe old age of 5 his first magical experience was Presto the clown, on a local television station. He would watch Presto take a imaginary fly and make it appear on this little black paddle. Then with a wave of the hand it would vanish. He thought that was so cool.

A year later his mom bought him a magic set at a little mom and pop store in Hodgenville, Ky. After that the bug had set in. "Magic became my life, and I read every book I could get my hands on about the art." At age 11 he finally gave his first public performance at the local library." They figured he had to know something about doing magic shows since he had checked out every book on the subject at least 10 or more times" He would even check out of school and go to the local elementary schools and do shows.

Now days if you want the catch the act, In the summer you can visit Guntown Mountain Amusement Park in Cave City Ky. The Illusion show runs 3 times a day, 7 days a week, Jessica, Dinky's daughter, performs on Dinky's day off, and for the rest of the year, Sandy, Dinky's partner in Magic, and Dinky are on the road a lot, toping out at over 600 performances a year. Now That's Magic!  We are very happy to have him perform his illusions on our Friday night show in 2008.
