CHARITY LUNCH

Dear Magicians,

Wow!  Irv and Harry, please convey to all the magicians what a good deed they did.  During the Magic Convention they raised $1,368.51 for our food pantry that helps feed low-income people, regardless of race or religion who need some assistance.

Our area’s wages are very low and the cost of rent, and utilities have risen tremendously these past few years.  People here live from paycheck to paycheck and when unexpected circumstances occur, they need assistance.  Many of these folks work 2 and 3 jobs and when they have to take off for a few days because of illness, etc. they don’t get paid.  This Federation prides itself in giving a hand up and not a hand out to these families. We help with food, clothing, utility and rental assistance.  All our services are given free of charge. These families work hard and really feel badly that they have to ask for our help.

We are so grateful for your donation.  We purchased 152 turkeys and added other goodies so that families could enjoy the tradition of Thanksgiving. Children came with their families to pick up their baskets, and the thanks we received from everyone, just warmed our hearts.

It is folks like yourselves that make a big difference to these folks.  No one in this great country should go to bed hungry, especially children

You helped families who make just a little above the poverty line and who are not eligible for any of the government subsidies.  Bless you for your support.  You showed them that you care

Thank you again,

Gloria Max, Executive Director
