A coin is borrowed and marked by a spectator. The coin is placed in a handkerchief and given to him to hold. Magi now shows a small wooden box that is secured with a padlock. The coin vanishes from the spectator's hand and miraculously appears in the locked box. Sounds impossible but this really works as described without any skill.

Show a playing card (both sides) and a half-dollar (the coin can be borrowed if you like). Hold the card at the very edge, at your fingertips. Place the coin on top of the card.
The card is held as far from your body as possible. Suddenly, the coin begins to rise up from the surface of the card! The coin moves up and then slides over the card and comes to rest back on the card! The coin may be handed out for immediate examination! There are NO THREADS, NO MAGNETS, NO WAX, NO SLEIGHTS, and it can be done SURROUNDED! The coin appears to rise almost a full inch off the surface of the card!

WONDER COIN BOX by VIKING MFG.
James Swoger who was the inventor of this unique coin box had Viking Mfg. Co. redesign it and present it to the magic fraternity. There are a number of effects that can be done with this versatile box. We will describe one. A half dollar is marked by a spectator and then returned to the magi. He vanishes the half dollar and introduces a small gift package, which is taped and tied with a bow. When the spectator unwraps the box he will see a beautiful wooden box. The box is open by the spectator and the marked coin is found inside.
This is a natural effect to use with the Rattle Box made by Daytona Magic. You can also use any method to vanish the coin. The Wonder Coin Box can also be used to make a coin vanish.
