Real magic happens in the spectator's hand, and Echec & Mat does just that. The effect is totally self contained and leaves your hands completely empty. A brass disk, held in the magician's hand, changes magically from black to white to black, again and again. It isn't long before the spectator realizes that the disk is white on one side and black on the other. I mean, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that one out, right?
The magician now places the chip in the hand of the spectator. When he opens his hand, he finds he's been checkmated. The chip is now blank and white checkers on both sides! The impact is so strong and the effect is so clean that when the spectator realizes what has happened, he can examine the disk to his heart's content and not discover the secret.

The performer displays a small box with a sliding cover, with three different colored dice filling the entire inside of the box. Performer removes one die from the box, and places it in his pocket, leaving the other two in the box, which is closed and placed on table.
Performer now pretends to take the die from his pocket and toss it towards the box. When the spectator opens the box the die is found to have magically re-appeared inside the box. The Die can be again made to vanish from the box, and re-appear in the pocket if you wish. The apparatus supplied for this trick is very cleverly gimmicked to make the effect automatic in working.

METEOR PADDLE by BRIAN GEER
This effect goes where no paddle effect has gone before! The magician displays a small black paddle with a clear handle. Covering one end of the paddle are three removable leather sleeves, each with a single yellow dot in its center. Somehow, as the sleeves are openly removed and replaced on the paddle, the yellow dots magically appear and disappear, jumping onto the paddle and off again! In the final part of the three-phase routine, all three dots magically leap from the paddle to one sleeve, gathering in a cluster.

Funny things are said to happen when something travels through a space warp, being teleported into the past or future, or in more mundane terms, vanishing from some place, only to re-appear some place else. These boxes enable you to do similar things, and are made for use with coins of your choice, although we supply a couple of colored disks or chips, which you can also use if you wish.
You receive two small (match box size) boxes with lids and a few chips, to help you perform a variety of tricks. Produce or vanish a chip or coin from either box. Or place a coin in each box, and have them come together in one box. Make a coin penetrate through the box. This is a versatile close-up prop, and as you play around with it.
