CLOSE-UP MAGIC
This is a very deceptive and effective penetration of solid through solid.
The performer displays a small wooden box with holes on top and bottom and a
solid steel ball, which just passes through the holes in the box. A glass sheet
is placed inside the box, so that it obstructs the holes, filling up the entire
inside of the box. There seems to be no way now for the ball to go through the
holes, unless it goes right through the solid glass sheet. Yet the performer
does just that - passing the solid ball right through the piece of Glass.
You are supplied with a special mechanical box approximately 1.5" high and 2.5" square, made from beautifully polished teak, a solid steel ball of the appropriate size, and the "glass" sheet, (actually clear acrylic, which will not break as easily as real glass), with full instructions.

An excellent electronic trick, - a close-up effect that looks and works like real magic, right under their nose, or even in their own hands.
The performer displays a nut and bolt, which can be thoroughly examined by the audience. This is placed isolated on his close-up case, and the bolt visibly un-threads off the nut. The effect is most uncanny. The spectator may himself pick up the nut and bolt off the case, and examine them. The effect can be repeated as often as you like. You can even work it in reverse, having the bolt thread into the nut instead of threading out.
This does not use any of the traditional methods - no strings, springs, rubber bands, wires or pulls. Although gimmicked, the nut and bolt will stand the most rigid scrutiny, as there is nothing attached to the nut or bolt.
You are supplied with an attractive close-up case (13" x 8" x 2.25"), with a velvet top, which makes the effect possible, and which also serves as a close-up mat. You can carry your other close-up items in the case, and perform them on this case, followed by the miracle effect for the climax.

Some people believe that the finger still contains some magic power." The magician places a sheet of blank paper on top of the finger, and places the lid onto the box. When the lid is removed, the blank paper has transformed into a real dollar bill! When the lid is replaced and removed again, the finger comes to life and transform into a real, live finger. When the box is covered one or more time, the bill turns back into paper, and the finger turns back into the gold replica.
Your audience that this trick is simply about changing the blank paper into real currency, so they will be shocked by the surprising climax. You can choose to present this as a dark mystery, or as a light hearted joke to provoke laughter. It's up to you.

CONFINED CUBES by SHIGERU SUGAWARA
Two cubes are displayed, each of a different color and size. One cube is inserted into a tube, and a thin stick is inserted from the side, locking that cube in place. This cube can be plainly seen the entire time through a window on the tube. When the magician taps a second cube against the bottom of the tube, this cube instantly penetrates inside the tube, ending up skewered on the thin stick! You can also magically remove a cube that had been locked inside the tube by the stick.
Although the cube is locked in place by the stick, and inserted inside of a tube that leaves no room for any secret switches, you can transpose the two cubes under these impossible conditions.
