A spectator holds one sponge cube in his closed hand. The magician touches his hand with a coin and the cube multiplies and there are two. Now the spectator holds the two cubes in his hand and with another touch of the coin the cubes multiply to three. Finally the three cubes are placed in the spectator's hand. The hand is touched with a coin and the spectator is asks if he believes that there are four?
No matter what the spectator says when he opens his hand there will be only one piece of sponge, however, it will be shaped like a giant 4.

JUMPING ARROW by MARK K. YOUNG
The Amazing Jumping Arrow is
destined to become a classic. Crafted from aluminum specifically for this
effect, then anodized and engraved, this elegant prop produces a beautiful

You start off with a paddle blank on
both sides...then an arrow (engraved and highlighted) appears on one end.
The arrow moves to the middle, then to the far end. It's shaken from spot
to spot, and then slid. It multiplies, and even jumps about on its own
volition. In one wild sequence, the arrows on the paddle refuse to
cooperate and apparently lead one another from place to place! Finally, an
arrow is visibly split in two and the paddle is handed out for examination.

A borrowed cigarette (it may be marked) is placed in a solid brass tube, into which the Cigarette exactly fits. There are no gaps or space for even an extra pin. A cap is screwed onto the tube, locking the Cigarette in place. The Cigarette is visible in the tube through five pairs of holes along the sides of the tube.
The performer now takes five large nails and pushes them through the holes, each nail apparently going through the middle of the Cigarette. The nails are then removed, and the cap opened. The same Cigarette is tipped out of the tube and it is totally unharmed. A fantastic effect.
The effect is by no means new. But this model is precision engineered from solid brass. Several refinements have been incorporated into the apparatus and routine to make this a strong magical effect. The nails go through the Cigarette from top, middle, and bottom and not just near one place. A handsome prop, you will use, and which will last forever.

The Magician calls forward an able bodied spectator to assist in a trick. "Before we begin, we must see if you are strong enough to be my assistant. For this we will do a strength test." The Magician hands the spectator a two inch nail and keeps an identical one for himself. "Alright, on the count of three, we will see who can bend the nail the fastest." On three, the spectator, and the audience, will be completely baffled when the Magician is able to bend his nail in half, while the spectator can not even bend his nail a little. To punctuate the unmatchable strength of the Magician, he hands the spectator his bent in half nail, which now cannot be bent apart!
