A matchbox is shown with a ribbon running lengthwise through it. The drawer of the box is opened from one side and then the other, showing that the ribbon is threaded between the cover and the drawer. A spectator holds both ends of the ribbon, suspending the matchbox in midair. The box is then placed on the table with the spectator still holding the ribbons.
The box is covered with a handkerchief while the ends remain in full view. The magician reaches under the handkerchief for a few moments. When the handkerchief is removed the box is free from the ribbon. In other words the ribbon has penetrated the box. Easy to perform! A puzzling effect with good audience participation. Wonderful patter included with the effect.
