In the Effect by Docc Hilford a deck of cards is shown as well mixed. Three subjects are required to help demonstrate your mastery of the past, present, and future. The first participant selects a card, notes it and returns it to the deck. "A card was chosen, but now is back from whence it came. It all took place in the past," you tell your audience.
You write a message on a slip of paper, fold it and write the word, PAST on it. The paper is set on a table and you continue. The second person selects a card and places it in his pocket without looking at it. Addressing the second person you say, "You have a chosen card and hidden it in your pocket. It remains in the present." You write something on a second slip, fold it and label it, PRESENT This paper is set next to the first.
"Before we proceed, I will look into the future to ascertain an event yet to take place." You write on a third slip, fold it a mark it, FUTURE. This joins the other slips on the table. The final spectator chooses a card a sets it aside near the slips.
The first participant is asked what card she chose before the trick began. She tells everyone, "The Five of Clubs." The paper marked, PAST is opened and read aloud, "Lisa has seen the Five of Clubs". The second person removes the card from his pocket and shows it around. It is the Nine of Spades. The paper marked, PRESENT is opened and read, "Will presently has the Nine of Spades in his pocket".
The remaining slip labeled, FUTURE is opened and read, "Melissa will choose the Four of Diamonds". The third person turns her chosen card face-up and it is, of course, the Four of Diamonds! Includes Gaffed Deck.

An Amazing Journey Through Time, Revealing The Past, Present and Future
Docc Hilford's Cards of Cairo is a piece of apparent fortune telling that's very
easy to do and completely baffles any audience. Here's the effect:
The faces of three over-sized cards are shown to the audience. You explain that
everyone will now take a mystical journey from the past, through the present and
into the future.
You go on to explain that the journey began in the past when you wrote three predictions about a spectator and sealed them under plastic to the backs of each card. A spectator chooses a face-up card and when the card is turned over it reads, "You Will Choose This Card First" and it even goes on to say something about the spectator's future. Of course, everyone thinks it's just a joke and that all the cards say the same thing. But, when the second card chosen is turned over it reads, "This Card Will Be Picked Second!" The final card's prediction prognosticates that it will be the last of the spectator's selections, three for three!

In this effect by Docc Hilford the card sword is a remarkable piece of magic, but it's never been as good as it could be. Now, it's a miracle! The Assassin Card Sword allows you to have any card freely selected and signed. Yet it still appears impaled on the end of a sword! A borrowed deck of cards is shuffled and given to a spectator for a free choice of one card. The card is signed by the spectator in pen. You take the deck and the chosen card is lost in it. A large samurai sword is displayed and the deck is carefully set on the side of the sword's blade near the tip. Holding the sword with both hands, the deck is flipped into the air at that moment, you thrust the tip in to the airborne cards and stab a single card. The stabbed card is the spectator's card! The sword is offered to the spectator who removes his card from it. The card is actually sliced and on the end of the blade.
The assassin also allows for an impromptu version too. At dinner a card is
selected and signed. The shuffled deck is placed on the side of a steak knife.
The deck and knife are thrown to the ceiling. Cards shower down around the
spectators leaving the signed card pinned to the ceiling by the knife!
Because the assassin is a special gimmick that can be used with any sword or
knife, its performance possibilities are endless. The card and sword can be
examined after the demonstration because the gimmick removes itself during the
performance.
The card sword used to look like a clever magic trick. But now, your audience will credit you with great skill. It's incredibly believable! This is an effect by Alakazam where a single red-backed prediction card is placed face-down in full view of the audience. The spectator names any number between 1 and 52 (e.g.17). The performer hands him a blue backed deck and asks him to have a look through it to confirm that it is simply a regular deck of cards - the spectator confirms that it is. He is then instructed to deal down to the seventeenth card and place it next to the prediction. Without any moves or switches, the performer turns over both the selection and the prediction - they match!
