A thought-of card rises by itself! Three cards are chosen from a group of nine miniature cards, and one of the three is mentally selected by your spectator. The nine cards are well mixed, and placed inside of a case. By casting a magical spell, you cause one card to rise up slowly from within the case, as if by its own power, and then stop. You ask the spectator the name of the mentally selected card, and then show the face of the card, which rose up. They match exactly!
The magical effect of a selected card rising upwards is called the Rising Cards. There are various methods for this effect, most, of which use-complicated hook-ups. Professional magicians enjoy performing the Rising Cards, as it is very effective. One of the dreams of many magicians is to perform the Rising Cards with a thought-of card, without having one physically selected. With the simple method provided here, anyone will be able to make this effect a reality.

Drive a hole through your beautiful assistant's torso! You insert a playing card into a frame, and stick a hollow tube through the card, When your spectator peeks through the tube; there is nothing but emptiness where the card should be! You can prove that nothing is there, by pushing a pencil straight through the tube. When you remove the tube, the hole in the card vanishes instantly! From the frame, you can remove the card and let it be examined.
