CARD MAGIC
One or more cards are selected by spectators from a deck of cards. These are replaced in the middle of the deck, which may be cut and shuffled. At the command of the performer, the selected cards magically rise, one at a time, from the deck.
The Rising Cards is one of the classic effects with cards, and there are dozens of methods of performing this effect, which range from very simple thread arrangements to ingenious remote control electronic decks. One of the most popular and practical methods has been the Devano Deck, which utilizes a weight concealed in a bunch of cards, for the rising mechanism.
The deck supplied works on an identical principle to the original Devano Deck, with several improvements. The gimmick packet, containing the rising mechanism, is only about 13 cards thick, and looks like a loose bunch of cards. VANISHING DECK by MYSTERIOUS MAGIC
This beautiful wooden effect comes to us from across the Atlantic. It is fine English craftsmanship. You remove a deck of cards from a wooden box. The box is placed in your left hand. A card is removed from the deck and shown to the spectator. The card is then placed back inside the card case and the flap is closed. The card case is slid into the wooden box as you say to the spectator, "If I could make the card vanish from the deck it would be a pretty good trick, but what if the whole deck vanished, that would be a miracle".

Just imagine...A normal pack of cards is displayed and a spectator freely chooses any card, looks at it and replaces it in the deck. The spectator then calls out any number between 1 and 52 and the magician deals down to that position in the deck to find the spectator's card!
Or...The magician displays a normal pack of red-backed cards. He then sets one blue-backed card on the table, sight unseen, which is his prediction. The pack is spread on the table face down and a spectator simply slides any of the cards out of the spread. When the prediction is turned over along with the spectator's selection, they match exactly!
