DIMINISHING RETURNS by MIKE POWERS
A spectator names any card. The card is removed from the deck. The deck is then given a squeeze and spread face up. The entire face up deck is now miniature cards. All except the selection, which is still normal size.
The selection is placed in the spread for contrast and the miniature deck is re-spread. This time the deck becomes normal sized but the selection has become a miniature card Finally, the selection visibly grows to normal size!

A spectator selects a card, tears it into four pieces, keeps one piece and drops the remaining pieces into an empty envelope, which the magician burns! Two plates of Plexiglas are shown, examined by any spectator, and bound with rubber bands by any spectator. Then these are set in a frame that supports them in mid-air (as pictured). The magician now steps back and instructs the spectator to throw the remaining cards at the glass. When the cards hit the glass, one card, with a torn corner appears right before their eyes, between the two plates.

This is the funniest addition to a card stab routine since the blindfold. The name of a "freely" chosen card appears on the blade of your pocketknife. The knife can also be used to stab into the deck to find a chosen card. It is very easy to do and comes with instructions for four dynamite routines.
Routine number one is called "Two card Revelation." Two cards are magically revealed by stabbing the deck, which is wrapped in a napkin. The name of one of the cards appears on the knife, which was shown empty before the trick began. Routine number two, called "In the Bag", is where a selected card is stabbed in the bag. Also the name of the card appears on a previously empty knife blade. Routine three is called "The Quick Shave" and routine number four is called "The Psychic Spectator". All are great routines you will use time and time again.

This effect comes to us from Silicon Valley, the hi-tech center of the world. It is one of the most original effects to be introduced to the magic community in years! It will become one of your favorite card tricks; and you can do it anywhere!
A card is selected and returned to the deck. The magician shows a piece of wire, very much like that used in electronic hookups. The wire can be twisted into any shape you desire. The wire is then dipped into any hot beverage, and it instantly and visibly forms itself into the name of the selected card. The letters are 1 1/4 inches tall! Immediately, the wire can be straightened and re-used over and over again.
For a second effect you can also wrap the WIREGRAM in flash paper, light it and the message will appear. Or you can heat the wire with a cigarette lighter or other flame. You won't believe your eyes when you see this amazing trick work!!

MYSTERY BOX by JOHN KENNEDY
Bring out a small wooden box and place it down on the table. Have a playing card freely chosen and signed by a spectator. Shuffle it back into the deck and ask, "Do you think that I can find your card in less than ten seconds without even looking at the cards?"
Hold the deck behind your back for several seconds, then bring it out and announce, "I've found it!" Pause briefly, then continue, "And guess where it is..." You point to the wooden box that has been resting on the table all along. There's absolutely no way the card could be inside because no one has been anywhere near the box.
Slowly reach over with your empty hand and pick up the box, then bring it
over to the spectator and say, "Please remove the lid." The spectator
lifts the lid and sees a folded card inside. Turn the box over and dump out the
card, then place the empty box down on the table. The spectator unfolds the
card; it is his card with his signature! At the conclusion you can leave the box
on the table for your audience to handle; they won't find a clue to the mystery.
Mystery Box is made from solid walnut by a master craftsman. It looks like an
elegant container, not like a gimmick or prop. The routine is easy to learn with
no difficult sleight-of-hand.
